Riportiamo all'attenzione dei nostri lettori questo comunicato arrivato in Redazione oggi:The purpose of this note is solicit brief contributed articles for the next
issue of the Global Aquaculture Advocate, official publication of the Global
Aquaculture Alliance (GAA). Our next issue, February 2002, will have the
theme of "Genetic Improvement" and in particular, we would be interested in
short articles (~ 500-1000 words or so)
summarizing ongoing efforts involving our February theme. As always, we also
encourage submission of articles on any aquaculture-related topic.
In case you aren't familiar with GAA, we are an international non-profit
association
dedicated to responsible aquaculture. Our members include some of the
largest companies involved in culture and consumption of farmed seafood,
including Darden Restaurants (Red Lobster, Oliver Garden), Long John Silvers,
Slade Gorton, King and Prince, Cargill/Purina, CP Group, Rich SeaPak, etc. To
encourage responsible production methods, we produce Codes of Practice and
Compliance Plans.
We attempt to convey the latest technology on efficient and sustainable
production methods through our bimonthly, 96-page color magazine, called the
Global Aquaculture Advocate. Our circulation is 4,000 copies per issue,
distributed in 60 countries around the world. You can review some of the
titles of recent articles on our website at http://gaalliance.org. Our
typical articles are only 1-2 pages in length (500-1,000 words) with no
Literature Cited references required, so it would not be a major writing
task. Our audience primarily consists of commercial aquaculture producers,
processors, and buyers, so we try to keep the articles practical and concise.
Photos (digital format OK if enough resolution) and graphics are a big help
to increase appeal and readability. The deadline for our next issue (February
2002) is January 7th.
Please contact me for a copy of our guidelines for prospective authors.
Regards.
