Title: Senior Fish Technician

Main Function:

This position is responsible to the Outside Supervisor for the provision
of all services related to the healthy growth and processing of fish at
this operation.

Key Areas of responsibility:

· Safe and knowledgeable operation of all heavy equipment: crane,
tractor, winch, welder, pumps, compressors, feed system, boats and
barges.
· Conducting all net and pen maintenance, including net changes,
providing and performing sanitation services related to the site in
general and the pens in particular.
· Conducting all mort remove and ensuring the safe transport/transfer of
healthy fish to other pens.
· Maintaining al appropriate records and updates as required.
· Other duties as required.

Key skills and Competencies Required:

· Good general knowledge of the feeding habits of salmonids, and ability
to follow appropriate feeding regime.
· Ability to identify fish disease and determine remedial treatment
required.
· High level of knowledge of the anchoring system and adjustments
required for safe, efficient and ongoing operations.
· Customer focused service orientation.
· Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and
good public relations.
· Ability to conduct diving practices in a safe, efficient and
knowledgeable manner.
· Ability to follow established operation practices and procedures and
to achieve or surpass processing standards regarding quantity and
quality.

Qualifications:

· Completion of certified Aquaculture/Fish Technician course at a
recognized college or university or equivalent.
· The ability to pass written exams relating to salmonid culture.
· Diving Certificate with a minimum of 50 logged hours.
