1978-1984 Degree in Biological Sciences taken with full marks and honours at the University of Naples.
1988-1992 Enrolled of completed as a PhD student for the University "Libre" of Bruxelles.

 

Professional Experiences

1980-1984 Zoological Station of Naples— — Collaboration on a study to define the food web in Posidonia oceanica meadows. The study was performed by analyzing the gut contents of vagile fauna sampled by means of "bottom trawl".—
1982 Laboratorio di Ecologia del Benthos - Ischia— Attended to the International Course "Summer Course", tutored by teachers of the Zoology Institute of Frankfurt am Main.
1986 Benthology Course— — Attended the course and and gave a lecture on the techniques of aquarium breeding of marine organisms.
1986-1990 Bioservice Society (Services in Biological fields and environmental impact evaluation)— Participated the foundation of the company and collaborated in a number of projects.
1986-1987 State Technical and Accounting School for Geometers— A teaching post for Chemistry and Technology of Marketable Goods was obtained by the local Education Office.

1992 On board "Minerva"— Participated in the oceanographic mission organized by the "Marevivo" society, in the frame of the research project conducted by the "Stazione Zoologica A. Dohrn". Animal populations living in seagrass beds were monitored.
1992 Mussel-Culturers Union (E.CO.M.)— Concluded the project for the establishment of a breeding and purification center for bivalve molluscs in "Ischitella" (Naples, Italy). The project was supported financially by the European Economic Community.
1992-1993-1994 Center "Lubrense" of Marine Exploitation— Awarded a consulting contract to study phanerogam meadow mapping and the trophic ecology of benthic macrozoobenthos in the frame of the E.C. programme "STEP" at the "Stazione Zoologica A. Dohrn".
1994 Florida Technology Institute— Fullbright association awarded a period of reseach at the Florida Technology Institute for an investigation of the feeding ecology of Hippolyte zostericola in the Indian River Lagoon.
1994-1998 Stazione Zoologica "A. Dohrn"— A permanent position in the Laboratory of Benthic Ecology was obtained.
