MARAQUA

A new project has been funded under the European Union FAIR programme entitled "Monitoring and Regulation of Marine Aquaculture" (MARAQUA) - contract number PL98-4300. The project, which lasts for two years commencing on 1st January 1999, is a "Concerted Action" therefore it does not involve new research but instead concentrates on a review of existing information and the establishment of agreed guidelines for the monitoring and regulation of marine aquaculture.

Youth Aquaculture Project

[ by Kathleen Kalina ] - Youth Aquaculture Projects are designed to help truant or disenfranchised youth stay in school. The Minneapolis project was designed by Kathleen Kalina (PhD program in Fish and Wildlife at the University of Minnesota) to prove that raising fish and building an aquaculture system could bring truants back to school.
