The Maine Aquarium

The Maine Aquarium had been open to the general public at its previous location everyday for near 14 years, and not at taxpayers' expense. We provided an educationally entertaining experience to over 1.5 million happy visitors and provided educational marine awareness programs related to the aquatic animal world to over a quarter million students who visited the Maine Aquarium while on scheduled school field trips.

The Maritime Museum and Aquarium

The museum houses an entire fleet of model ships, and in the Aquarium you can see fish from all over the world, baby crocodiles, piranha, electric eels and other exotic creatures. Outside the museum you find a high column with a statue of a sailor's wife looking out to the sea. There is a flight of stairs in the column, so you can walk up and get a splendid view of the harbour.

Waikiki Aquarium

The Waikiki Aquarium, founded in 1904, is the third oldest public aquarium in the United States. A part of the University of Hawaii since 1919, the Aquarium is located next to a living reef on the Waikiki shoreline. Our exhibits, programs, and research focus on the aquatic life of Hawaii and the tropical Pacific. Over 2,500 organisms in our exhibits represent more than 420 species of aquatic animals and plants. Every year, roughly 350,000 people visit the Waikiki Aquarium.
